Melissa Ehrlich, DVM
Chief Medical Officer
Melissa knew she wanted to be a veterinarian from a young age. Ironically, she never owned a dog or cat growing up, only a red-eared slider and goldfish (not at the same time as Dicey would become Woody’s lunch). After graduating college at Emory University, Melissa was accepted into veterinary school and graduated in 2008 from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
Having taken an interest in surgery, Melissa continued with her training as well as her travels up the East Coast and completed a rotating internship as well as a specialty internship. Melissa’s enjoyment of emergency surgery and the controlled chaos of emergency medicine led her to accept a position in Boston, MA in the Emergency and Critical Care Department at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital. Finally, after three years of enduring Northeast winters, Melissa returned to the great South and was one of the initial doctors to open the Emergency Service at Saint Francis Veterinary Specialists and Emergency in Decatur, GA.
Melissa joined Jason in 2023 as the Chief Medical Officer of Ruby Veterinary. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys reading, running, Peloton, crafting, and spending time with her husband, Garret, daughter, Evie, and son, Jacob.
